Videos may be spreading FUD but this one make me think (again) about how of much my data should I give out to Google by using their services.

Has Google reached the point where they are too big like Microsoft used to be in 1990s?

Here’s another jawdropping TED video from Blaise Agüera y Arcas who definitely knows how to reverse-engineer 3D spaces by using geo-tagged 2D pictures/movies. He has previously stunned the crowd with Seadragon and Photosynth technologies, which have been since then acquired by Microsoft.

In this presentation, Blaise is showcasing the technology to be experienced on Bing Maps. I’ve been too used to using Google Maps which might change when amazing projects like this become widely available. For now this won’t happen, however, since Street view is not supported in Firefox (and I won’t even start thinking that Chrome might work). ;-)

All I can say is: Praise to Blaise and his team!

This is probably the most exciting to leave the gates of Microsoft (pun intended) next to Project Natal presented by that guy wearing sunglasses indoors.

I guess Google should start cracking their brainpower and company acquisition resources…

Google has recently started reminding people that Google Search is the discovery engine in a response to Microsoft’s Bing touting itself as one, as if they’re doing something that hasn’t been done before.

The most visible part of this reminding campaign is the new line on the main Google Search page (classic, not personalized page):
Discovering the web: Explore the world of Google search.

Google has also launched a series of 15 second search tips - reminding everyone all the nice information you can get on Google Search. Out of all 17 of them, the video above is my favorite: Fill in the Blanks

For anyone who hasn’t been tuning in online in last two days needs to see this - Project Natal from Microsoft “controller-free gaming and entertainment experience”.

Not only does this new type of game control seem to overthrow Ninendo Wii’s control (Wiimote) with its controller-free motion tracking and control, it has the potential of burying it since it has voice recognition too. Wow!

The disruptive potential of Project Natal is the fact that has even shorter learning curve than Nintendo Wii.

Really, I do not remember there was anything from Microsoft that kept me waiting anxiously. Now this is definitely something that I can’t wait to try out! Truth be told, this innovation didn’t com from Microsoft really, rather from company called 3DV Systems that Microsoft acquired in March 2009. This is yet another example of technical brilliance stemming from Israel.

And there’s more to get your saliva flowing… check out the promotional video below…

This needs to be seen - the video that was played during Bill Gates’ last keynote speech at CES as he’s about to retire this summer. Finally! :-)

The video depicts Bill’s last day at work and middle-age crisis that he’s supposedly in. Ha! I guess he’s laughing to his way to bank, and back, and then again, and back again… until he chockes laughing. Kidding, good for him and good that he decided not to be the richest guy on the cemetery (as Steve Jobs put it bluntly and candidly).

Anyway, video stars several big names like Jay-Z, Bono, Stephen Spielberg, George Clooney, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Al Gore, etc.
